We’re thrilled that Traid has won Best Marketing Campaign at the prestigious Drapers Awards for our Closet Clear-out Challenge 2024. This recognition is a testament to what can be achieved when creativity, collaboration, and community come together to champion reuse, circular fashion, and charity, to help fund the global projects driving lasting change in the fashion industry.

In September 2024, we launched our biggest campaign to date – Traid’s Closet Clear-out Challenge. With the support of an incredible lineup of well-known faces including Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Sharon Horgan, Patrick Grant, Sabrina Grant, Erin O’Connor, Caryn Franklin MBE, Michelle Dockery, Gilles Peterson, Jim (aka Vic Reeves) & Nancy Moir, and many more, we set ourselves a bold target: to generate 250,000 donated garments in just one month.

Together, we didn’t just reach that target; we exceeded it.
Thanks to the extraordinary response from our community and the public, the Challenge saw almost 300,000 items donated. That’s the equivalent of putting 92,480 kg of clothing back into circulation, saving 786 tonnes of CO2 emissions (the same as taking 596 cars off the road for a year) and saving 147,968 m3 of water (enough water to supply 202,690 people for a year).
The Closet Clear-out Challenge celebrates the joy of second-hand fashion and seasonal style that looks good, feels good, and does good. Every donation to Traid directly supports vital global projects improving the lives of garment workers, their families, and organic cotton farming communities. This is fashion as a force for change.
Winning Best Marketing Campaign shows that our message is resonating, that people are not only ready but eager to play their part in a fashion system that works better for both people and the planet.
Thank you to our community, creative collaborators and partners who helped make this campaign and this win possible.
