We are pleased to announce that TRAID is preparing for a phased safe re-opening of our some of our charity shops on Thursday 18th June.

We’re starting with our most spacious shops in Dalston, Kilburn, Peckham and Shepherd’s Bush where customers can socially distance easily. You can read the update we posted last week here about the measures we are taking to protect TRAID’s staff and customers – from quarantining donations to PPE for staff. Safety for all is our first priority.

An always celebrated aspect of TRAID’s charity shops are the elaborate window displays by Francesco Colucci who showcases the endlessly creative and artistic possibilities of secondhand with his witty unique visual style.

Over the last few days, Francesco has been working on our first windows since lockdown which have drawn inspiration from the NHS rainbows that have adorned the country in celebration and love for of all its staff. It’s a recognition of some of the wonderful community solidarity which has been demonstrated during this difficult and unprecedented time, and our hope that we can build on this outpouring of solidarity to create stronger, fairer, more sustainable communities in the aftermath of the pandemic.

We can’t wait to safely welcome you back into our charity shops and we anticipate that the charity shops on our high streets will have a more important role than ever – stocking our high streets with affordable secondhand clothes while funding causes locally, nationally and globally which will be more needed that ever in the wake of this pandemic.

See you on Thursday 18th June!
