Our 2025 Global Projects
Every time you shop or donate to Traid, you’re helping to change fashion for good.
In 2025 we’re proud to commit £533,946 to fund six projects in four countries around the world. By working closely with our long-term project partners, we’re renewing our support to make sure that the people who make our clothes have access to safer working conditions, higher incomes, workers’ rights, better health and education opportunities, making fashion fairer for everyone.

Providing care for the children of garment workers
Since 2013, we’ve supported Nagorik Uddyog to create safe, nurturing spaces for the children of garment-working mothers in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 2025, we have committed £75,808 of funding towards this project to continue the operation of two daycare centres and two drop-in centres, providing good quality care, education, rights support, food and health checks for 180 vulnerable children aged 2-13.

Growing pesticide-free crops in Ethiopia
Since 2018, Traid has supported PAN Ethiopia and PAN UK’s innovative work to expand pesticide reduction models. Building on the successful cotton-sector models, this year’s £45,822 investment will help vegetable growers transition away from chemical pesticides and towards a healthy, agroecological vegetable system that will benefit farmers and consumers.

Expanding pesticide-free cotton in Ethiopia
Since 2012, our work with PAN UK and PAN Ethiopia has focused on phasing out hazardous pesticides in cotton farming. With a new investment of £286,943 in 2025, we’ll support a further two years of this project training for 7,500 farmers, aiming to scale up and increase organic cotton production across the Gamo and Welaita zones, improving livelihoods and environmental health.

Supporting children out of waste picking
In 2023, we began working with the Grambangla Unnayan Committee in Dhaka, Bangladesh to prevent children working on dangerous landfill sites. Our funding of £30,775 in 2025 will support 60 teenage girls, aged 14–17, with scholarships in sewing and tailoring, providing them with practical skills and to transition into safer work.

Supporting migrant garment workers
Since 2013, our partnership with READ has focused on reaching the most marginalised garment workers in Tamil Nadu, India. With a new three-year funding commitment of £178,092, we’ll continue strengthening support systems and protections for interstate migrant garment workers in the Erode and Tiruppur districts.

Preventing child labour in the textile industry
In 2024, we partnered with GoodWeave to prevent child labour in India and Nepal’s textile sectors. This year, we’ve committed £59,977 to provide education and care for children at-risk, and support those already in child labour to transition into safer, brighter futures.
