Book a Free Clothes Collection
TRAID has expanded its free home collections service offering scheduled pickups of unwanted clothes and shoes to every household in London, Surrey and Slough, and parts of Hertfordshire including St Albans and Harpenden.
The service can be booked online, by phone 020 8733 2580 (press 1 to book) or by email giving people a hassle-free way to donate unwanted clothes directly to charity, direct from their door.
Collections take place at agreed times when people are at home so donations are not left outside where they are vulnerable to theft and bad weather. Scheduling a pick up is also great for busy people and families, and those who may find it difficult to carry donations to a textile bank or charity shop.
All TRAID asks is that people using this service have a minimum donation of at least one large bin liner sized bag. We accept all good quality clothes, shoes, accessories, linen and homeware.
One million tonnes of textiles are sent to UK landfill and incineration every year, with at least 350,000 tonnes of these textiles good enough quality to be worn again. Passing on these clothes to TRAID, rather than throwing them away, enables the charity to shrink landfill, carbon emissions and consumption, while raising funds to support projects in some of the world’s poorest communities.
